“After we decided to wed, CG & I had several discussions as to what type of wedding and where we wanted the
ceremony to be held. We chose Sevierville for several; reasons. We felt the most important one being size, we had each been married before and had grown children with families of their own. We
wanted to make the statement that he and I were coming together as a new and separate family of our own. Although we love our children and grandchildren we would now put each other before
all others in our lives. So we chose to be married away from where we live, alone just the two of us. We didn't want a fancy wedding . We never considered the words of the ceremony, we didn't
care just so it was legal. But, in all of our discussions we left out the most important part without realizing it. Rev Parson, you helped us to recognize the fact that we had left God out of our plans.
The ceremony was lonely in itself but your words made us realize that without including God in our new family we would not be complete and whole. We want to thank you for that. We now know
the real reason why we were to be married in the Smoky Mountain Wedding Chapel. God does work in mysterious ways."
